Dirt Farmer is the debut single from Perth quintet The Disappointed. With a run of WA shows leading up to official launch party at Ya Yas May 19th, the track is a pop delight. Part jagged new wave, part warm seventies stomp and loaded with harmonies and polish.
Though fronted by prolific and award winning songwriter Michael Strong, The Disappointed are no backing band. This is the sound of experienced musicians hitting their prime, with members from Minute 36, Mezzanine and Generals & Majors filling out the lineup. Jagged pop edges, get-your-feet-moving rock and lush arrangements are the order of the day for this Perth five piece. Pop sensibilities, accomplished songwriting and a distinct darkness pull it all together. Full time keys, twin guitars and a 4 pronged vocal attack make for quite a show! With supports for Perth’s Emperors and Adelaide’s Dexter Jones coming up in June, The Disappointed are looking at a huge 2012.
